R Software Download

We begin at the CRAN website:

Scroll down to the "R Sources and Binaries" on that page and click on the binary distributions link on that page. You'll see the following index:

Follow the "windows/" link to the next download page

and then select for the version of Windows you're using. I personally am using Win98, so I choose the windows-9x/ link. Then select the base/ link to see:

It is probably a good idea to always check out the readme files. I've printed them both, as they should the contents of each of the files. I downloaded them all, and the installer file rwinst.exe too. If you're using a dial-up modem, this may take a while, based on the size of these files.
